The company announced the update will roll out to a limited number of users today and a broader rollout will happen in the next few days. OnePlus calls this an incremental rollout. After the update, OnePlus 6 users will be upgraded to OxygenOS 9.0.4, while OnePlus 6T users will get the OxygenOS 9.0.12 version. The update doesn’t bring any major change to the way one uses the phones. The changelog mentions the update brings the January 2019 security patch and some other system-level improvements According to an official forum post on OnePlus forums, the update to the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T offer the same features save for the OnePlus 6T, which also includes display optimisations. Apart from that, the update brings bug fixes, system improvements and deep integration with Google Duo along with the latest security patch. For OnePlus 6T, the update is 138MB in size, while for the OnePlus 6, it is 143MB. By “Deeper integration with Google Duo”, OnePlus means you can now place video calls directly from the Phone and Messages app using Google Duo. The update should reach users automatically. If you haven’t received the notification for the update, check back in a couple of days. You can also check for updates manually by heading over to the Settings → System → System Updates → Check for Updates. The OnePlus 6T was launched back in October 2018 and features more-or-less the same hardware underneath as the OnePlus 6, but with added features like a waterdrop notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor. You get a flagship Snapdragon 845 powering things coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB storage.
