Highlights: Oppo’s 10x lossless zoom showcased in a video. The technology is confirmed to be announced on February 23, during MWC 2019 in Barcelona. The tech could be demoed on the rumoured Oppo F19 and F19 Pro smartphones. Oppo is again teasing its 10x Lossless Zoom technology. In a couple of Twitter posts, the smartphone maker confirmed that it will be unveiling the technology on February 23, during MWC 2019. In another tweet, the company also posted a video captured by the Oppo VP, Brian Shen, that showcases how one will be able to use the 10x Lossless Zoom tech. As one can observe in the video embedded below, Shen is zooming into the architecture of La Sagrada Familia church. Another first. Our 10x Lossless Zoom, in action. RT if you’re ready to #GetCloserWithOPPO : Brian Shen, OPPO VP pic.twitter.com/euZN67Xm3i — OPPO (@oppo) February 19, 2019 The video showcases litte skaing or jittering, wich is quite impressive. However, one should hold off on a verdict, especially since comapnies are known for trying to be cheeky. There have been instances in the past where some companies tried to bluff the actual capabilities of their phones. The video showcases zooming from 1x to 10x. ArcSoft logo on the right-most image. One more thing we noticed in the video is that as the zoom progresses and passes the 8.5x mark, an ArcSoft logo pops up for a second on the lower left corner. ArcSoft develops visual computing tech for companies like and offers image stabilisation, algorithms for optimising imaging in low-light conditions and more. Oppo could be leveraging ArcSoft's services for enabling the technology on its phone. Oppo has proven itself of being able to innovate as we have seen with its Oppo Find X smartphone. It remains to be seen how well the upcoming 10x lossless zoom tech that is being highly teased will work. Oppo showcased its 5X optical zoom technology back in MWC 2017, however, it never made it to a smartphone. The company might have tweaked and worked on the tech to come up with the 10x zoom technology. Rumours suggest that it will be unveiled at at MWC 2019 on the Oppo F19 and Oppo F19 Pro smartphones.
