Highlights: Huawei launches Watch GT with double chipset architecture It also launches Band 3 Pro and Band 3e fitness bands All the three wearables will be available on Amazon later this month Four months after initially launching them along with the Huawei Mate 20 smartphones in London, Huawei has now brought its latest wearable lineup, the Huawei Watch GT, the Band 3 Pro and the Band 3e, to India. With the launch, the Chinese tech giant has now expanded its wearable portfolio to compete in the fitness tracker products market in the country. The company claims that the Watch GT features the first double chipset architecture in the industry and provides up to 2-week battery life. While the Band 3 Pro comes with a functionality that accurately monitors the heart rate of a user, the Band 3e features a new Footwear Mode. “Wearable devices complement the feature sets of today’s handsets to help consumers get more out of their devices. Designed for today’s urban explorers, the Huawei Watch GT addresses one of the most common pain points of wearables: battery life, and breaks boundaries of traditional cognition, and brought the valuable essence to the gene of this watch, enhancing the users’ spiritual cognition. The Watch GT launch is a step in this direction and we are confident that our consumers would be able to differentiate us in the market,” Tornado Pan, Country Manager (Huawei Brand), Consumer Business Group, Huawei India, said in a statement. Huawei Watch GT The Huawei Watch GT features a "classic wristwatch" design, and is claimed to have a good battery life, low power consumption, activity tracking and fitness coaching features. Huawei says that the smartwatch bears the GT name to highlight its performance and reliability “just as Grand Tourers, or high performance automobiles, are trusted for their prowess.” The Huawei Watch GT features a 10.6mm thin body and a 1.39-inch AMOLED display offering a , 454x454 pixel resolution. The smartwatch incorporates a dual-crown design with stainless steel and ceramic bezels, and is said to be treated with a DLC diamond carbon coating for durability. The watch comes with an option to choose from two bands - a dual-color silicone band and a leather-rubber band. Huawei says that the smartwatch comes with a smart power-saving algorithm that enables the watch to enter normal mode if it identifies “dynamic scenario” and/or low-power consumption model in case of “static scenario”. Depending on user activity, the algorithm allows the device to deliver up to two weeks battery life for frequent use mode, the company said. Huawei claims that the smartwatch features an industry-first dual-core architecture and is powered by Cortex-M4 chipset. The Huawei Watch GT applies GPS chip which is capable of supporting the simultaneous positioning of three satellite systems for rapid and accurate positioning, the company noted. “It can simultaneously tap into GPS, GLONASS and GALILEO, thus obtaining more accurate and comprehensive positioning and offer more reliable exercise records. The watch also adopts accurate track optimisation algorithm for one-to-one track optimisation under complex scenarios,” the Chinese tech giant claims. When it comes to sports modes, the smartwatch is said to support hiking, trail run, outdoor walking, running, cycling, swimming and free training, and features data tracking in terms of time, distance, heart rate, stride frequency, step count, stride, matching speed, aerobic and anaerobic training effect, training status, training load, recovery time suggestion and VO2max. The device also fitted with a TruSeen 3.0 heart rate monitoring technology that tracks the user’s active and resting heart rate. With a combination of PPG optical and AI algorithms, the tech can monitor the heart rate of users in real time with high precision, the company said. The tech also enables the device to monitor exercise heart rate and rest heart rate. In the exercise heart rate mode, the user can preset the running template of the heart rate interval, as well as can directly select the corresponding template to run without defining the heart rate interval. In the resting heart rate mode, the watch will automatically record the user’s resting heart rate as long as the user keeps wearing the watch. Huawei Band 3 Pro The Huawei Band 3 Pro smart wristband features professional monitoring capabilities, including improved heart rate and sleep monitoring. Just like the smartwatch, the smartband also comes with Huawei TruSeen 3.0 technology to monitor the user’s heart rate. There is Huawei TruSleep 2.0 tech to track the wearer’s sleep patterns, and uses big data analysis to provide personalised suggestions to improve sleep quality. The smartband features a 0.95-inch HD AMOLED colour touch screen and an intuitive UI to enable navigation by swiping vertically or horizontally, or by tapping the screen to return to Home. Huawei Band 3e The Huawei Band 3e is a sports bracelet wearable and features a Footwear Mode, which is basically an to provide precise running data. Huawei claims that the Band 3e can provide treadmill running data at a 97 percent accuracy using a built-in 6-Axis Gyroscope based sensor in Footwear Mode. Featuring a 50m water-resistance, the wearable can also track data of water intensive activities like swimming. Price and offers The Huawei Watch GT will be available on Amazon.in from March 19.
