Highlights: Samsung Galaxy A70 unveiled in Korea. The phone comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display - largest of all A-Series phones. It has a triple camera system on the back. A day after it was spotted on TENAA, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A70 phone in South Korea. The newest addition to the Galaxy A-Series, the device sports a triple camera system and a huge battery. It will be available in Coral, Blue, Black and White colours, and the company says that the details on pre-booking, availability and the price of the device will be unveiled on April 10 - the date on which Samsung is hosting an event at three different places simultaneously. “Today’s consumers are using their phones in a more visually active and authentic way – sharing their experiences and staying connected longer. These connections can only thrive when the most essential features allow people to enhance interactions through spontaneous, collaborative, and genuine connection. This requires an evolution. Which is why, to meet the needs of this emerging generation, we created the new Galaxy A70 – designed for the way people are connecting now,” DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. Samsung Galaxy A70 Specifications: The Galaxy A70 sports a 6.7-inch Infinity-U display with a u-shaped notch. The Full HD+ Super AMOLED display has 1080x2400 pixel resolution. Samsung says that the phone has the biggest screen in the Galaxy A portfolio to date and claims that the device provides a better, immersive edge-to-edge experience by offering a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone has an on-screen display sensor. It is powered by an octa-core processor (dual 2.0GHz + Hexa 1.7GHz), along with an option to choose from 6GB/8GB RAM. The phones will ship with 128GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB. The Galaxy A70 comes with a massive 4,500 mAH battery with a bundled 25W adaptor for super-fast charging. The phone runs Samsung’s OneUI built on Android Pie 9. For the imaging, the Galaxy A70 comes with a triple camera system consisting of a standard 32MP sensor with the lens having F1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with F2.2 aperture and and a 5MP depth sensor with a lens having F2.2 aperture. Samsung says that the phone comes with a Scene Optimizer that can recognise and enhance up to 20 scenes. The Flaw Detection feature is claimed to automatically identify glitches before a photo is clicked. On the front, it features a 32MP camera with F2.0. When it comes to security, the phone comes with Samsung Knox, its defense-grade security platform. As mentioned, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor, and face recognition features to unlock the phones. With Samsung Pass, people can sign into websites and apps by using biometric authentication. Additionally, the Galaxy A70 includes flagship features like Samsung Health, Samsung Pay and Bixby.
