Realme 3 Pro launching on April 22, CEO teases Fortnite running at 60fps

At the launch of the Realme 3, the company teased that the Realme 3 Pro will be launching soon. Now, in a Twitter post, the company has confirmed the Realme 3 Pro will launch in India on April 22. The launch event will be held in the Delhi University Stadium in New Delhi. Clearly, the device is targeted at the college-going demographic, just like the Realme 2 Pro was which also launched inside an university.

The invite that Realme sent to media houses has the tag ‘Speed Awakens’, indicating that the phone will also be focused on offering faster performance. It is also likely to compete head-to-head with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro.

In a tweet, Realme CEO Madhav Seth shared an image of the Realme 3 Pro running Fortnite. In the tweet, he claimed, "I believe #realme3Pro will be the 1st in its segment that can directly support it. Tried to play this game on some latest "Pro" devices but none of them could manage. When it comes to speed, chipset matters,” indicating that the device will bring a powerful chipset to the mid-range segment.

It’s not clear though what he meant by “directly supporting”, as Fortnite is indeed supported on most mid-range phones. However, he may be talking about the new 60fps mode that Epic Games recently enabled for the game on flagship devices.

In fact, you can see another phone showing the “not supported” error, which can easily be understood as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Note 7 Pro launched in February featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC and a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. Weirdly enough, Epic Games lists the flagship Snapdragon 855 and the Kirin 980 as the only chipsets that support Fortnite at 60fps. So is the Realme 3 Pro expected to come with a flagship processor? Highly unlikely.

Leaked spec-sheet of the Realme 3 Pro had revealed the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC and bring VOOC fast-charging. Furthermore, it could also come with a 16MP camera on the back and a 25MP sensor on the front.

What could happen is that 60fps mode can be announced for mid-range chipsets along the same time the Realme 3 Pro will launch. Clearly, there will be a massive difference in the performance of the vanilla Realme 3 and the upcoming Realme 3 Pro.

Related Reads:

Realme 3 Pro leaked specs hint at VOOC 3.0 charging, Snapdragon 710 chipset
