Netflix teases possible announcement of video games based on its originals at E3 2019

Netflix has a lot of content based on video games on its platform, with existing originals like Castlevania, Carmen Sandiego, Minecraft: Story Mode, and upcoming ones such as Resident Evil, The Witcher, Diablo and more. But at E3 2019, the streaming service wants to talk about the other side of the coin - video games based on Netflix originals. The dedicated Netflix twitter account for comic book and Sci-Fi content, NXOnNetflix, has tweeted to the official E3 account saying, “How does this sound: Bringing Your Favorite Shows to Life: Developing Netflix Originals into Video Games?”

To this tweet, the official E3 account replied saying, “Sounds great! Can we get a hint about the games?” Netflix answered by saying, “there’s the upcoming @Stranger_Things game but hmmmmm... there’s definitely more to come!” In light of this statement, we strongly expect to hear more about games based on Netflix’s original content at E3 2019, just what that content will be remains a mystery. There haven’t been any leaks or murmurs about video games based on Netflix originals, apart from Strangers Things 3: The Game, which arrives on July 4 alongside the new season. The company will be holding a panel at the E3 Coliseum where we are likely to hear about a slate of new games based on its content. Perhaps Netflix will announce games based on Altered Carbon or Umbrella Academy. Alternatively, Netflix could also announce something on the lines of interactive storytelling based on video games. However, the title of the E3 panel points more towards the former.
