Samsung Galaxy M40 with Infinity-O display to launch today in India: How to watch live stream, expected specs and pricing

Samsung will launch its new Galaxy M40 smartphone today in India. The company has been teasing the device from some time now and has revealed some information about it in the process. The Galaxy M40 is confirmed to feature an Infinity-O display design, which is also present on the Galaxy S10 series of smartphones. It will also feature a triple rear-camera setup but no official details about the camera configuration are out yet. The Samsung Galaxy M40 is expected to be the company’s new mid-range handset and it will reportedly be priced around Rs 20,000. This will pit the smartphone against the likes of the Redmi Note 7 Pro and other phones that are priced around the same.

Samsung Galaxy M40 launch timing and live stream

Samsung Galaxy M40 will be announced in a launch event that is slated to take place at 6 PM today. The company is yet to post links for the event’s live stream but we will update the story with it when the video is uploaded.

Samsung Galaxy M40 specifications:

As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will feature an Infinity-O display. As per a previous report, the handset will feature a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a 2340×1080p resolution. The handset could be launched running on the Snapdragon 675 SoC, which might be coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone will feature a triple camera setup that is said to consist of a 32 MP main sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, it features a 16MP shooter and the phone is expected to launch running on Android 9 Pie. The device was previously rumoured to come equipped with a 5000mAh battery but another report hints at a smaller 3500mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy M40 expected pricing

As per a Samsung executive, the Samsung Galaxy M40 could be priced below Rs 20,000. This means that the handset will go up against the likes of the Realme 3 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and others that sit in the same price category.

Samsung has been refreshing its approach when it comes to adding features to its smartphones. Its M-series of handsets availed some benefits of the company's changed philosophy where it is adding new features first to mid-range handsets. The Samsung Galaxy M40 is also turning out to be a mid-range phone with some flagship-level features. It joins the Galaxy M10, M20 (review) and the Galaxy M30 (review) in India.
