Realme is working on a system-wide dark mode and will soon bring it to all its existing phones, Madhav Sheth, Realme India CEO, has confirmed. Sheth, however, did not confirm when this would be rolled out to the devices. In his latest #AskMadhav YouTube video, the executive also said that the company was also working on a camera-related enhancements as well as miscellaneous features.
Sheth confirmed that the Time Stamps feature would be introduced to the Camera app sometime in the third quarter. Further, the Camera UI that was introduced with the custom ColorOS 6 will be rolled out to all users soon. For those who don’t know, Realme introduced the ColorOS 6 in the Realme 3 Pro. In our review, we found a marked change in visual aesthetics. The app drawer was introduced, the icons were polished, and the system animations have been made faster.
Apart from this, the company is looking to release the Screen On Time feature sometime in the third quarter. Additionally, users will soon be able to record audio during the screen recording. The executive said that this feature has been demanded by a lot of users, so it will be rolled out to all devices in future OTA updates. Furthermore, Sheth confirmed that VOOC chargers and cables, which come bundled with certain phones, would be sold separately soon.
The video comes a day after Sheth confirmed the launch of the Realme X in India. He shared an image on Twitter, saying that the company would also release the special Onion and Garlic editions of the phones in India. Realme X was launched in China in May and is equipped with a 6.53-inch AMOLED Samsung display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor, which is assisted by up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone has a dual camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, and a 5MP sensor. On the front is a 16MP selfie camera with a pop-up mechanism.
