Vivo S1 gets certified in Thailand, to come to India with up to 8GB RAM, triple rear cameras: Report

After the launch of recent Vivo Z-series phone, it seems like the Chinese company is now looking to bring its S-series of smartphones in India. According to 91mobiles, “A mysterious Vivo phone with model number Vivo 1907 has been spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification site.” It doesn’t reveal any information about the upcoming smartphone. However, The Vivo S1 could be the first S-series smartphone from Vivo to launch in India. Earlier, it was reported that the phone will be priced under Rs 25,000 and Vivo would focus more on design and style than the specs of the S-series phones.

According to the “trusted sources” of 91mobiles, the first Vivo S-series phone, the S1, would come in two variants: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB. As for the optics, the phone is expected to feature a triple camera setup on the rear. The 6GB variant could be priced under Rs 20,000, while the 8GB variant could be launched at under Rs 25,000. The report further claims, “it will also be an offline-exclusive model that will take on the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme handsets.” That’s all the information we have about the smartphone as of now.

As for the recently launched Vivo Z1 Pro, the smartphone features a 6.53 inch FHD+ display on a punch-hole LCD panel. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor, and comes in three variants - 4GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 64GB, and 6GB RAM + 128GB onboard storage. The storage can be further expanded using a microSD card. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging. There is also a 32MP selfie camera, and 16MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup.

Coming back to the S-series, it should launch in India soon.
