Realme C1, Realme 2, Realme 3 receive November security patch, dark mode and more

Users of the Realme C1, Realme 2, and Realme 3 are in for a treat as the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer is currently rolling out a new software update to the three devices. The update, according to Realme's changelog, includes the Android security patch for the month of November 2019 along with several other small enhancements, including a system-wide dark mode. If you own one of these devices, you should be seeing an update notification now or in the next few days.

The three Realme models are finally receiving ColorOS 6.0 (vRMX1805EX_11_A.62 for the Realme C1, vRMX1805EX_11_A.62 for the Realme 2, and vRMX1821EX_11.A.24 for the Realme 3). Since it’s a major version update, you’ll need roughly 2.1GB to download it on your Realme device. While the changelog for the Realme C1 and Realme 2 is the same, the changelog for the Realme 3 is slightly longer. It also includes Google’s Digital Wellbeing feature, among others.

Launched earlier this year in India, all three Realme devices sit in the same sub-Rs 10,000 price bracket. The Realme C1 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage currently sells for Rs 8,285, while the similar Realme 2 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage currently sells for Rs 9,490. Both devices sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, a 4230mAh battery, and a 6.2-inch HD+ display. The Realme 3, however, with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage sells for Rs 8,244 on Amazon.in. The same model with double the storage space costs Rs 9,650 on Amazon.in.

Realme launched the Realme XT in India a couple of months ago at Rs 16,799. It’s Realme’s first device to sport a 64MP primary camera. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset along with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. More recently, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth was seen talking about the possible launch of a Realme fitness band that can take on the popular Xiaomi Mi Band series in India. If our luck holds, we might even get to see a Realme power bank with the company’s VOOC Flash Charge technology sometime soon.
