Nubia has launched its long-awaited 5G smartphone, the Nubia Play, in China. The company has been manufacturing some high-end gaming smartphones under its Red Magic series, but Nubia Play 5G marks its entry in the mid-range segment.

While it may not cost as much as a flagship smartphone, it still brings in some of the features like a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, liquid cooling, 5100mAh battery alongside 5G connectivity. Additionally, Nubia has added two shoulder buttons to add up to the gaming experience.

NUBIA PLAY 5G SPECIFICATIONS, FEATURES AND PRICE

The 6.65-inch display features a 240Hz touch sampling rate aside from the 144Hz refresh rate, which can be tweaked as per the demand. It also has an in-display fingerprint solution. There's no notch on top, but Pixel 3-like bezels on top and bottom, making up a 20:9 aspect ratio.

It has a Snapdragon 765G chipset that comes paired with Adreno 620 GPU. There will be three RAM/storage variants to choose from – 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB.

There are four cameras on the back with a 48MP primary with Sony IMX583 sensor supported by an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a pair of 2MP cameras for macro shots and depth data. The front-facing camera comes in at 12MP.

As mentioned, it gets a 5,100mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging over USB  Type-C. It runs a nubiaUI 8.0 skin on top of Android 10.
