Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro launched: Specifications, features and pricing

Oppo has launched the Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro in China as the successors to the Reno 3 series. The phones come packed with the latest set of hardware and features like dual punch-hole cutout that’s of late become a trend in the smartphone industry. In India, the company is all set to announce its Find X2 series on June 17.

The Reno 4 series comes with support for 65W fast charging out of the box and 48MP triple cameras on the back. There’s a lot in common between the Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro, so let’s take a brief look at the specifications, features and pricing of the phones.

Oppo Reno 4 series specifications

Starting with the Reno 4 Pro, it features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED screen with punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner that gives it a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display supports a 90Hz high refresh rate and is certified for HDR10+ playback. The screen is further topped by a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 for added protection against daily wear and tear.

The Reno 4, on the other hand, features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display that uses an AMOLED panel and has dual punch-hole cutouts for two selfie cameras. Like the Reno 4 Pro, the regular Reno 4 is also protected by Gorilla Glass 6 both on the front and the back.

Both the phones run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 620 GPU. The Reno 4 is being offered with 8GB RAM and upto 256GB storage options to choose from while the Reno 4 Pro goes upto 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The Reno 4 Pro has three cameras on the back which consists of a primary 48MP with f/1.7 aperture, a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree field-of-view. The rear cameras are capable of shooting in 4K at 30fps with support for optical image stabilization. On the front, housed within the punch-hole cutout is a 32MP selfie camera.

Oppo Reno 4 also has a triple camera setup on the back that consists of a primary 48MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP depth sensor. Unlike the Reno 4 Pro, this one supports electronic image stabilization and can record in 4K at 30fps. It has the same 32MP selfie camera as the Pro variant but is backed by a secondary 2MP depth sensor on the front as well.

Both the phones come with an optical fingerprint reader under the display and are powered by a 4,000mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging out-of-the-box, courtesy of SuperVOOC 2.0. Oppo claims that these phones can go from 0-100% in 36 minutes flat.

Oppo Reno 4 series pricing

Oppo Reno 4 starts at CNY 2999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and CNY 3299 for the 256GB storage variant.

The Reno 4 Pro starts at CNY 3799 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage and goes up to CNY 4299 for the maxed-out variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Oppo Reno 4 is available in three colours-- black, blue and purple while the Pro variant comes in five colour options to choose from-- black, white, green, blue and red.

The Reno 4 series goes on sale in China from June 12 but there’s currently no word on Indian launch dates.
