Amazon Prime Day 2020 sale starts from August 6: Deals, discounts, new releases and more

Amazon India will be hosting the Prime Day 2020 sale from August 6 to August 7. The US e-commerce giant announced the sale via a microsite that is currently teasing the deals and content on Prime Video and Prime Music. Prime Day sales are an annual event in the e-commerce platform across the world where Prime Members, or premium subscribers to Amazon’s services get exclusive deals. For India, this will be the fourth Prime Day sale, and we expect some good deals and discounts as well as new launches.

Interestingly, this is the first time Amazon is hosting the Prime Day Sale in August. Every year before this, the sale has happened in July. And the delay is likely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the recent Indo-China skirmishes at the border. In the microsite that has now popped up online, Amazon said it will be revealing major offers starting July 23.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 exclusive deals

Amazon Prime Day will have sales of new smartphones including the OnePlus Nord, Redmi Note 9 and more smartphone. Amazon has also announced a 10 per cent discount for HDFC customers on various products. There will also be offers like no-cost EMI and exchange offers.   Amazon will unveil more deals in the days preceding the sale. Apart from that, Prime Day 2020 will also bring new movie releases for Prime subscribers on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon will release 5 new titles starting July 22. These include —    1. Shakuntala Devi (July 31) starring Vidya Balan  2. Amazon Original series Bandish Bandits (August 4) starring Shreya Chaudhury, Ritwik Bhowmick, Naseeruddin Shah, and Atul Kulkarni.  2. Gemini Man (July 29)  3. Birds of Prey (July 29)  4. French Biriyani (July 24)   Amazon Prime Music will also offer celebrity curated music playlists called “My Mixtape” which will include handpicked songs by your favorite artists like Madhuri Dixit, Shankar Mahadevan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vidya Balan, Alan Walker, Gopi Sundar and more in multiple languages.

How to avail benefits of the Amazon Prime Day 2020 sale?

To get access to the exclusive offers, users will need a Prime subscription which is available for an annual price of Rs 999 or Rs 129 per month. Subscribing to the service gives access to faster deliveries, better deals and a host of OTT content across videos and music.
