AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card to cost Rs 64,990 excluding GST in India

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card price has been revealed in India after the company announced the Radeon RX 6000-series back in October. AMD’s new Radeon RX 6000-series based on the new RDNA2 microarchitecture include the RX 6900 XT, RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 graphics cards. The SEP (suggested e-tailer pricing) of the RX 6800 XT has finally been revealed for India.

According to a post on Instagram, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT is priced at Rs 64,990 excluding GST. Additionally, the company states that partner cards based on the reference card will be announced in the coming days. The new RX 6800 XT is not listed on the official AMD store and neither on online shopping websites already selling the RX 6800. However, do note that the price revealed by AMD is of the reference card and there is still no clarity on when the partner cards will arrive in India.

This announcement comes after the chip-maker revealed the pricing of the RX 6800 GPU last week. The SEP for the Radeon RX 6800 is Rs 45,999 with partner cards from Sapphire getting listed Rs 55,999 and Rs 65,000. However, the RX 6800 is currently out-of-stock online.

The AMD Radeon RX 6000 series of graphics card are capable of driving twice the performance over the previous generation with features like the Infinity Cache, Smart Access Memory, Microsoft DirectX Raytracing (DXR) and DirectStorage support and more. The RX 6800 XT gets 16GB of GDDR6 memory for 4K gaming and has 72 compute units with a 2015MHz base clock speed and up to 2250MHz boost clock speeds.

The RDNA2 microarchitecture in the cards allows twice the bandwidth while consuming 10% less power and reportedly has achieved 54% gains in performance over the previous generation. AMD is offering 4K gaming pitting it against NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090 series graphics card that was launched back in September.

Some of the features of the RDNA2 cards includes 128MB of L3 Infinity Cache that ensures more frame rates at high resolutions. Then, there’s the support for DirectX 12 Ultimate which brings Microsoft DXR Ray Tracing API, improved variable-rate shading and more. The new cards also support DirectStorage that allows the SSD to move data to the GPU’s VRAM quickly which is why Sony and Microsoft have also adopted this on the new PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
