PUBG Mobile India officials still awaiting response from MeitY: Report

It seems like players will have to wait longer for the launch of PUBG Mobile India. According to a report by Inside Sport, PUBG Mobile India officials are still awaiting a response from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Sources told the publication that “the proposed meeting will decide if permission to Relaunch can be granted to PUBG or not.” before adding, “In the current circumstances it will not be easy for the game to relaunch themselves before Jan-Feb next year and that too will depend on the stance of the government.”

A few days ago, it was reported neither PUBG Corp nor PUBG India has been permitted to resume operations in India. It further added that the government was firm on its stance of the game being banned in India. To recall, PUBG India Pvt Ltd was established as a subsidiary based out of Bangalore, however, the reports indicated that it is not a substantial enough development for the ban to be revoked.

The announcement of PUBG Mobile India was met with enthusiasm amongst the PUBG Mobile faithful in India. A trailer for the game was released on Diwali with the promise of “coming soon”, but it seems like the launch of the game may still take a few weeks, if not months. There were rumours of PUBG Mobile launching a few weeks back, but that came to nought. There are also reports of the game being available with select users. While it may be a little hard to believe but it is quite possible and is a common practice in the gaming industry to send out review copies to influencers and the media before a game has been launched. For now, gamers are advised to stick to official PUBG Mobile India social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for information.

Meanwhile, nCore game’s FAU-G is now up for pre-registration on the Google Play Store. However, certain users complained that the game was shown to be incompatible with their phone, even though they seem to offer impressive hardware. Digit got in touch with Vishal Gondal, Advisor and Investor in nCore Games, who said that the company was looking into the issue and would release a fix soon.
