The successor to the Poco F1, the Poco F2 is expected to launch soon in India. The company had revealed that the Poco F2 Pro would not be seeing an India launch and a true spiritual successor to the Poco F1 was in the works.
The details of the Poco F2 are still under wraps, but a previous leak had suggested that the phone could be powered by a mid-range 732 chipset. All the leaks came crashing down when the popular tipster and leaker Mukul Sharma carried out an AMA session with POCO India Country Director, Anuj Sharma.
Anuj Sharma clarified that a mid-range chipset has already been used in Poco X3, and the F-series is above the X-series lineup, hinting that the Poco F2 could be powered by a flagship-level SoC. In December two batteries had been certified by BIS for Poco having model numbers R15B02W and R14B02W speculated to be laptop batteries, but Anuj Sharma confirmed these were POCO batteries.
The Poco F2 could come with a flagship chipset as the previous Poco phone, the Poco F1 had a Snapdragon 845 SoC. While Anuj Sharma did not reveal which chipset will be used, it can be speculated that the device could house a Snapdragon 865 or a newer chipset.
Coming to the pricing of the new phone, the head of Poco India revealed that it will be priced higher as it is impossible to launch it at the same price as the F1.
In the video, Anuj revealed that he had tasked the R&D team to work on other products that could be a spiritual successor to the Poco F1.
