Instagram reveals new profile embedding option along with a bunch of new features

As the year draws to a close, it looks like Instagram is giving its users a bit of an end-of-year send-off. Users will now be able to embed their profiles on third party websites. This profile will be a specialised, miniature version of their profile that is meant to be embedded. It also does not mention the name of the users, so users can remain anonymous while still having their profile viewable in public. The feature was unveiled by Meta CEO Adam Mosseri on Friday. He showed off the feature and introduced a bunch of new options as well. The feature is available in the US for now. There is no word on an international rollout as yet.

New Features  We’ve rolled out some pretty fun new features this week that I wanted to share with you: - #IGPlayback - Reels Visual Replies - Profile Embed (US only for now) Any new features you’d like to see? Let me know!  pic.twitter.com/p8mvtJn4kA

The other features that were announced were Instagram Playback and Reels Visual Replies. The Visual Replies feature can only be accessed when you’re replying to a comment. Selecting it to create a video reply will allow the comment to appear as a sticker. There was no word on the full rollout of the features as yet, but we do expect them to be launched sooner rather than later.

In fact, as we reported earlier, CEO Adam Moserri stated that Instagram was in the process of working on an option that will give users the ability to switch between a chronological feed instead of an algorithm based one. This could give users a better idea of what their feed looks like instead of Instagram shoving what it wants down your throat.
