Ahead of that Google is moving some features from Meet to Duo. And eventually, Google Duo will have all Google Meet features and the latter’s name.

While this happens, Google assures the Duo users don’t have to download a new Google messaging app. Their existing video calling features like the facility to video call anyone by phone number and email address. This rebadged app will consist of fun filters and effects, prevailing contacts, messages, conversation history, and the option to send messages, and calls through a connected device by asking Google Assistant.
