Infinix Note 30 5G challenges Samsung and iQOO for the best 5G phone in the segment crown

Infinix Note 30 5G has launched in India starting at ₹14,999. It claims to be “the best 5G smartphone in the segment”. But, how does it compare to the incumbent players like Samsung Galaxy M14 and iQOO Z6 Lite? Let’s find that out here via a spec-by-spec comparison.

Infinix Note 30 5G vs Samsung Galaxy M14 5G vs iQOO Z6 Lite 5G 1. The number of 5G bands supported

Starting with the 5G band support, Infinix Note 30 is compatible with 14 bands, viz., 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 22, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 77, and 78.

Samsung Galaxy M14 5G, meanwhile, has got 13 bands under its belt. These are 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 77, and 78 SA/NSA.

iQOO Z6 Lite is frugal in this matter as it sports only 2 5G bands: 77 and 78 SA/NSA. But since these two frequencies come under the coveted C-band, we think all three phones should fare similarly.

2. Design

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is the lightest of the lot at 194 grams. But, it has only a regular glass front and a plastic back. Infinix Note 30 5G, meanwhile, comes decked up with a Vegan Leather finish. You can also pick it in a Chequered Square Matte finish. Samsung is in the mid with its plastic frame but Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front.

3. Display

Although PLS LCD on the Samsung phone should be brighter than the IPS LCD on the iQOO and Infinix phones, it's the lattermost that rocks 580 nits of peak brightness. In our testing, the Samsung phone only touched 421 nits. There is no word on the iQOO Z6 Lite’s brightness rating.

4. Internals

Out of the three, iQOO Z6 Lite boots with Android 12 while the other two offer Android 13 out of the box. Do note that Samsung gives only One UI Core 5.1 which is a toned-down version of the skin it lays on its pricier phones.

When it comes to the processor powering the devices, Samsung’s Exynos 1330 SoC is 5nm and better equipped with 2x Cortex A78 at 2.4GHz clock speed. iQOO also offers a dual Cortex A78-engined Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC (6nm)  but it clocks at 2.0GHz speed. Infinix Note 30 5G has got a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset with 2x Cortex A76 running at 2.4GHz frequency.

You get more base storage (128GB) on the Infinix phone while the rest two have 64GB only. You get dedicated storage expansion on Note 30 5G and M14 but a shared slot on the Z6 Lite.

While Samsung Galaxy M14 bags a bigger 6000mAh battery (with 25W charging), it is the Infinix Note 30 5G’s 5000mAh battery that gets 45W charging support. iQOO lags behind with a 5000mAh battery and 18W charging speed.

5. Camera

All three have a big primary camera and token 2MP camera(s) accompanying them. Infinix boasts a 108MP camera with 1440p video recording capability while the other two settle with a 50MP main sensor and 1080P video shooting option.

This has been a comparison of the three phones solely on the basis of their on-paper specifications.
