PUBG Mobile Season 7 release date, Royale Pass patch notes and more leaked

PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular online battle royale games available on mobile phones. The game developers are also hard at work to keep adding new elements to the game to keep things interesting. The next update for the game is expected to be version 0.12.5 and a new report suggests that the Season 7 and its Royale Pass could be rolled out with it. As per a new video by the YouTuber Mr. Ghost Gaming, Tencent is set to take the game server down on May 16 to roll out the version 0.12.0 update for PUBG Mobile. The Season 7 is said to start on May 17 at 7:30 AM IST.

As per the report, the update could weigh 219.60 MB on Android and 283.9 MB on iOS. The update is said to bring Season 7 of the game, along with the season’s Royale Pass. The leaked patch notes suggest that Season 6 would end on  May 16 and the registration for Royale Pass Season 7 would commence on May 18. A friendly bonus could also be added to the weekly challenge mission, which would enable one to earn more RP points when completing missions with a friend. A new RP Easy ticket system will reportedly be added that would enable users to play pre-scheduled weekly missions in advance and earn additional mission cards each week.

The Skorpion firearm might be added to the game with the next patch, which is touted to spawn on all maps in classic mode. The gun uses 9mm rounds and is said to support up to 40 bullets with an extended magazine. Some small changes could be made to the recently released Survive till dawn 2.0 and the Darkest Night mode event to improve the gameplay. A new trail (smoke) effect could also be added to the game, which would display a trail of smoke when players are parachuting from the plane. However, the trail system is said to be available only for RP users. Finally, the middle east server will also be available to select from before getting into matches.

PUBG fixed the annoying door bug with the 0.12.0 update and added a new mode as well. You can read more about it here.

Netflix teases possible announcement of video games based on its originals at E3 2019

Netflix has a lot of content based on video games on its platform, with existing originals like Castlevania, Carmen Sandiego, Minecraft: Story Mode, and upcoming ones such as Resident Evil, The Witcher, Diablo and more. But at E3 2019, the streaming service wants to talk about the other side of the coin - video games based on Netflix originals. The dedicated Netflix twitter account for comic book and Sci-Fi content, NXOnNetflix, has tweeted to the official E3 account saying, “How does this sound: Bringing Your Favorite Shows to Life: Developing Netflix Originals into Video Games?”

How does this sound: "Bringing Your Favorite Shows to Life: Developing Netflix Originals into Video Games"?

— NX (@NXOnNetflix) May 13, 2019

To this tweet, the official E3 account replied saying, “Sounds great! Can we get a hint about the games?” Netflix answered by saying, “there’s the upcoming @Stranger_Things game but hmmmmm... there’s definitely more to come!” In light of this statement, we strongly expect to hear more about games based on Netflix’s original content at E3 2019, just what that content will be remains a mystery. There haven’t been any leaks or murmurs about video games based on Netflix originals, apart from Strangers Things 3: The Game, which arrives on July 4 alongside the new season. The company will be holding a panel at the E3 Coliseum where we are likely to hear about a slate of new games based on its content. Perhaps Netflix will announce games based on Altered Carbon or Umbrella Academy. Alternatively, Netflix could also announce something on the lines of interactive storytelling based on video games. However, the title of the E3 panel points more towards the former.

Xiaomi teases Redmi Flagship Killer 20 after OnePlus 7 Pro India launch

Redmi has been teasing the launch of its new flagship phone in China since some time now. The company’s GM, Liu Weibing also recently confirmed that the upcoming device will be called the Redmi K20. Now, Redmi India and the Global VP of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain, have taken a jibe at OnePlus’ latest flagship OnePlus 7 Pro by teasing its upcoming ‘Flagship Killer 2.0’ smartphone. While neither the company nor Jain has confirmed which is their next device in the country, the image posted by them on Twitter hints at the launch of the Redmi K20 in India.

As one can observe in the image below, Xiaomi has teased the launch of its Flagship Killer 2.0. One might also notice that the ‘K’, ‘2’ and ‘0’ have been highlighted and surprise surprise, they form the word K20. Additionally, some of our eagle eyed readers might have noticed that ‘855’ is written inside the highlighted ‘K’, which seems to be another nod at the Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi K20 smartphone. We recently came across a report that suggested that there would be two Redmi K20 handsets, the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro, and one of these could launch as the Poco F2 in India.

Going by trends, there’s a chance that the Redmi K20 might be rebranded and launched as the Poco F2 in India. OnePlus launched its OnePlus 6 (review) smartphone in May 2018 in India and Xiaomi followed suit with its Poco F1 smartphone, which offered similar hardware at almost half the price. The company could pull off the same trick again to introduce the alleged Poco F2, which, same as the OnePlus 7 and the 7 Pro, could be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC.

As for the upcoming Redmi K20 Pro, some features of the smartphone have already been outed by the company. It is said to be a gaming-centric device, which would feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and come equipped with a ‘large’ battery. The flagship device is reported to come equipped with a 6.39-inche Full HD+ display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is also being teased to feature a pop-up front camera and is rumoured to sport a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide and a 16MP telephoto camera.
