Netflix debuts Wanna Talk About It live series on Instagram to talk about mental health during Coronavirus outbreak

Netflix has premiered a new live series on Instagram, “Wanna Talk About It” that deals with mental health in the times of the Coronavirus outbreak. The Instagram series debuted on Thursday, April 9 and is slated to run until May 14, with new episodes every week.

The live Q&A series stars some widely known celebrities from Netflix’s young adult shows like 13 Reasons Why and Stranger Things. They will be joined by mental health experts and will have a freewheeling conversation about self-care during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Many countries around the world are on complete lockdown with businesses and industries coming to a standstill. As people have been asked to stay at home in order to prevent the spread of the disease and maintain social distancing, it can get tough at times, especially if you stay alone.

Therefore it becomes necessary for individuals to take care of their physical and mental health with the utmost care. So, if you're facing issues in sleeping at night or managing anxiety or you just want to know how to take care of yourself, Netflix’s Wanna Talk About It aims to discuss all these topics and other such pertaining questions with mental health professionals from different institutes.

The Instagram series will be hosted by Noah Centineo and Lana Condor of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Ross Butler and Alisha Boe of 13 Reasons Why, Joey King (The Kissing Booth), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) and Jerry Harris (Cheer), who will talk with mental health experts from various organizations including National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Mental Health America, The Trevor Project, Crisis Text Line and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The series premiere saw Noah Centineo in conversation with Dr. Ken Duckworth, Cheif Medical Officer at NAMI as they discussed self-care and what it means right now in the face of Coronavirus. You can visit Netflix on Instagram to watch the first episode.

Amazon Prime Video users can watch together using Twitch Watch Parties

If you were wondering how to watch a movie with your friends while you’re stuck at home due to the lockdown, Amazon has a trick up its sleeve for just that. While there are multiple unofficial ways to tune in to a movie with friends sitting on your couch, Amazon is leveraging Twitch to let you set up a watch party with friends. But it’s only available in the United States for now.

Twitch, which is a subsidiary of Amazon is now offering a new feature called Watch Parties where you can stream, watch and share Amazon Prime Video content with other people on the internet.

How to start a Twitch Watch Party?

Using the Watch Party feature, a Twitch streamer can stream select Prime Video movies and TV shows on their channel. Anyone with a Amazon Prime account can join in and watch it along with them.

The feature was in closed beta testing with a small number of Twitch streamers since October. However, with most countries mandating social distancing and asking citizens to stay home, Amazon said it is expanding the feature to Twitch streamers in the US.

Right now, the Watch Party feature is only restricted to verified Twitch partners but in the coming weeks, it will be made available to all Twitch users in the US if they have an active Prime membership. And in the coming months, this will expand to other regions. Hopefully India will be on the list. But Amazon has not confirmed anything yet.

There are some more caveats. Not all Amazon Prime Video movies and TV shows are supported at the moment. The number is pretty slim but it does include a bunch of Star Trek series, The Avengers, Caption America: The First Avenger and more. Twitch creators can also pick from a bunch of original shows made by Amazon.

Amazon isn’t the only streaming platform looking to help people watch content together in these times. Netflix users have the option of using Netflix Party which happens to work in India as well.

Apple TV Plus and Youtube offer free shows to stream on their respective platforms

It looks like Apple TV Plus is now letting users stream a few of its original shows and films for free. This move was also adopted by Youtube, who also made a bunch of their Youtube Premium originals free to stream. As more people are stuck at home due to the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak, it becomes imperative that there is enough content to keep people entertained.

Apple TV Plus Free Streaming Originals

Apple is now allowing free streaming of a bunch of shows and films from HBO and EPIX.  The company also announced on Thursday that the films and shows that it selected were family-friendy as well. The Elephant Queen, Dickson, Servant, Little America and a few more. Elephant Queen is a documentary that follows the lives of a herd of elephants in Africa. Dickinson tells the modern tale of poet Emily Dickinson and Little Amerca acts as an anthology series about immigrant stories. You will need an Apple ID to access these shows and films.

The content was made live in the US on Thursday while Indian viewers will be able to access these shows on April 10 using the Apple TV app.

Youtube Originals made free to stream

Youtube has also jumped on the free content bus and made a bunch of its original shows free to stream. These include Step Up, High Water, Sherwood and more. Youtube also plans on adding more free shows in the future.

If you’re sick of watching films and movies, try playing a few games or maybe even get on a video chat with your friends and family.

Facebook brings Quiet Time to iOS app, Android to get the update in May

Facebook is introducing a Quiet mode to its main app, which will silence push notifications system-wide. The company announced the feature on Thursday and said it will pause “most” of the push notifications the app sends. The company did, however, clarify that some notifications may be exempt from Quiet mode.

Quiet Mode on the Facebook app is essentially a “Do Not Disturb” option. You can set the Quiet Mode to turn on automatically at a pre-determined time or you can even turn it on manually on a particularly busy day. Enabling Quiet Mode will prevent Facebook from sending any push notifications to your screen. Now, at first glance, it might feel like a redundant feature when you take into account the Do Not Disturb setting on your phone, but it's actually not. Using Quiet Mode will not only prevent push notifications but also prevents any badges from showing up on the app’s icon. This effectively kills any distraction a Facebook notification would have been to you during that time. All the notifications that are withheld during the use of Quiet Mode will be delivered once you open the app

Facebook is rolling out Quiet Mode for iOS first, and users will be able to find it under the “Your Time on Facebook” option. Android users will get the update sometime in May. The update is part of Facebook's larger plan to tailor its services in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, which has put many people under lockdown.

PUBG Mobile Season 13 leaked, will have Toy Playground theme

Details about PUBG Mobile’s Season 13 have been leaked by notable leakster, Mr Ghost Gaming. The user has been leaking details on upcoming PUBG Mobile Seasons for quite a while now and has been pretty accurate. His most recent video suggests that the upcoming season will have a ‘Toy Playground’ theme with weapons skins resembling toys and skins that look very similar to the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This should be quite nostalgic for all 90s kids.

Besides this, players will also apparently get a lucky draw with the theme of ‘Tribal Treasure’. As the name would suggest, this gives players the chance to get tribal themed outfits and clothing. This includes skull masks and outfits.

PUBG Mobile is currently winding down its Second Anniversary celebrations. The celebration saw the addition of a theme park to Erangel. The park spawned in one of three locations around the map in Classic Mode. The park featured working arcade games as well as rides.

A few days ago, PUBG Mobile announced a bunch of new events and contests for players. This includes the ‘7 Days of StayHome’ Challenge in India, in-game events and special discounts. The ‘7 Days of StayHome’ challenge will be held on the game’s Indian social media platforms and it will cover a number of in-game activities including topical quizzes, trivia challenges, art-based contest and in-game battles.
