Oppo Reno 4 Pro launch confirmed for July 31 in India: Heres what you need to know

Oppo Reno 4 Pro is confirmed to launch in India on July 31 and is a bit different from the Oppo Reno 4 series that was launched in China in June 2020. In that, the Indian variant of the Reno 4 Pro is rumoured to come with a quad-camera setup on the back, unlike the Chinese variant that has three rear cameras.

Moreover, there is a possibility that the Reno 4 Pro that launches in India could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G instead of the Snapdragon 765G. Otherwise, the phone is expected to come with a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and support for 65W fast charging out-of-the-box. Oppo Reno 4 Pro launches in India on July 31 and will go on sale on Amazon India. Here's a brief look at the specifications of the Reno 4 Pro that launched in China.

Oppo Reno 4 Pro specifications

Oppo Reno4 Pro features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution AMOLED screen with punch-hole cutout on the top-left corner that gives it a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display supports a 90Hz high refresh rate and is certified for HDR10+ playback. The screen is further topped by a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 for added protection against daily wear and tear.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 620 GPU. It is paired with upto 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The Reno 4 Pro has three cameras on the back which consists of a primary 48MP with f/1.7 aperture, a 13MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120-degree field-of-view. The rear cameras are capable of shooting in 4K at 30fps with support for optical image stabilization. On the front, housed within the punch-hole cutout is a 32MP selfie camera.

It is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging via SuperVOOC 2.0 fast-charging adapter that Oppo claims can go from 0-100% in 36 minutes.

Motorola Razr 2020s design plays it safe in a leaked render

The Motorola Razr 2 render has made it to the Internet, giving us our first look at the much rumoured 5G successor to the Motorola Razr (2019). Noted leakster Evan Blass took to Twitter to post a live render of the upcoming Motorola Razr 2/Motorola Razr 5G/Razr 2020, which gives us an overview of the design that resembles a lot like the current Razr.

From the image, it can be deduced that the Razr 2 has subtle design changes and it looks like the company has worked on refining the edges and overall bezels on the phone. The phone has a Mercury Silver finish and the fingerprint sensor on the chin seems to have been moved under the display.

When closed, there’s a smaller display on the flap accompanied by a camera. The screen looks the same as on the current generation Razr, but earlier rumours have indicated that the Razr 2 could come with a larger on-screen display. The Razr 2 is expected to come with dual cameras, a primary 48MP camera and a 20MP secondary camera. The phone has a notch cutout to house the selfie camera and you can also see the flip mechanism on the right and left edges.

Motorola Razr 2 leaked specifications

Motorola Razr 2 is also expected to feature mid-range hardware, opting for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G packed with upto 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It is rumoured to feature a larger 6.7-inch display. The phone is also expected to come with a 48-megapixel sensor instead of the 16-megapixel shooter found on the current model and a second 20MP camera.

The Razr 2 could come with 2,845mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Overall, the Motorola Razr 2 looks like an incremental update that works on what the Razr 2019 missed like better cameras, bigger screen and battery.

There’s currently no official word on when Motorola will launch the Razr 2 but we will keep an eye for any developments about the Razr 2.

This is what Apples A14 RAM component for the iPhone 12 might look like

A photo of Apple's next-generation A14 chip or component has been making rounds online. The component in the image is said to be the RAM portion by Twitter user Mr White, who is a well-known leaker with a history of sharing accurate pictures and information about unreleased Apple products. He recently tweeted another image with a bunch of A14 chips stacked on top of one another.

The A14 chip will succeed the A13 Bionic, which is seen on the current-generation iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max and the compact iPhone SE. Apple A14 should ideally debut with the next-generation iPhone 12 series that is expected to launch in September.

— Mr·white (@laobaiTD) July 27, 2020 Apple likely to use a 5nm A14 chip

The leaked image doesn't reveal much about the chipset or the RAM. It only has the name 'A14' and an alphanumeric series. Apple Insider reports that the number "2016" this particular chip in picture refers to the 16th week of 2020, which implies that the chip as manufactured in April 2020.

While Apple hasn't officially confirmed that TSMC will be making its upcoming chip, multiple sources have confirmed that TSMC is ready with their 5nm chipset that is set to debut with a device due in the fall, which is very likely to be the iPhone 12. TSMC told Phonearena that their 5nm technology is about 15% faster while using a full 30% lower power than the current 7nm node that is in the most powerful chipsets present - Snapdragon 865+ or Apple A13.

Leaked benchmark scores indicated that the chip might be twice as fast as the A12Z in the iPad Pro. As per the leaked Geekbench listing by Apple Insider, the new A14 chipset is tipped to score 1,658 on the single-core test, and 4,612 on the multi-core test. By comparison, the A12X on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro scored 1,110 on the single-core and 4,568 on the multi-core test. Apple's newest smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, packs the A13 Bionic chipset and had a single-core score of 1,330 points.

We look forward to the upcoming iPhone 12-series and especially the A14 Bionic, and how the company is planning to make the most out of that raw power.
