Heres what to expect in Call of Duty: Mobiles Season 13 update

Call of Duty: Mobile’s Season 13 update is just around the corner. While the developers have been teasing some new additions to the game, they haven’t yet confirmed everything that will be added to the game. However, the devs just released a new public beta build for the next season of Call of Duty: Mobile and have listed some of the features that players can expect in the next season. You can also download the public beta build of Call of Duty: Mobile here.

Do note that while these features are a part of the build, there is no guarantee that these features will be available in the final roll-out of the update. It should also be noted that Activision will most likely stagger the release of all the additions and features all through the month.

New Operator Skill

Call of Duty: Mobile has its fair share of sci-fi weapons like the Tempest rifle, Shock RC and the XS1 Goliath. However, the newest Operator Skill, the Gravity Vortex Gun, trumps them all in terms of show. The weapon seems to fire a miniature black hole, that sucks in enemies.

New Scorestreak

Season 13 also brings with it a new Scorestreak called EMP Systems. As the name would suggest, the scorestreak releases a massive EMP blast that disables enemy scorestreaks and messes with the enemy's HUD. It’s practically a giant version of the EMP grenade.

New Tactical Grenade

Season 13 will also introduce a brand new tactical grenade called the Gas Grenade that results in disorientated vision and deceleration. This makes it ideal for blocking off choke points. It should be noted that the weapon doesn’t seem to cause any damage.

New Weapons

Call of Duty: Mobile has teased the introduction of new weapons to the game, and we finally have a good look at them. This includes the Peacekeeper MK2 assault rifle and the QXR SMG. We’ll get to learn more details of these weapons at a later date.

New Battle Royale Class

The Reddit post has tagged this as a Perk, but a video by YouTuber, JB Hunters shows that the Desperado will be a new class in battle royale. The class’s active ability will allow them to set up a Shield Turret, similar to the one found in Multiplayer. The passive ability allows players to fight back with a pistol when downed, and if they manage to get a kill in this state, they will be revived.

New Game Modes

The new season will see the addition of a bunch of new game modes. This includes Grind, 3v3 Gun Fights, Hardcore Hardpoint, and Battle Royale Blitz.

New Maps

Call of Duty: Mobile has confirmed that season 13 will feature a new version of Nuketown called Nuketown Russia. There is also the return of the holiday version of the Raid map. Besides this, we will also see another new map called Rebirth that sports an urban setting and a linear layout.

New Vehicle

Battle Royale is also tipped to get a new vehicle. However, this will be the snowboard and should only be available in snowy areas. It is not yet known if the snowboard will be a permanent addition to battle royale.

Besides all those, hardcore players will be glad to know that there will be a new Diamond and Gold camouflage under the ‘Completionist’ section. There should also be a bunch of other bug fixes and changes, but we will only know about those when the season 13 update finally rolls out and the patch notes are revealed. The videos below should give a good look at all of the new additions.

Maker of iPhone in India, Wistron sees losses of Rs 437 crore and thousands of missing iPhones due to protest

The Taiwanese manufacturer responsible for making Apple iPhones in India has estimated losses running to around Rs 437 crore after a protest by factory workers. The dispute started because of due payments of the workers that reportedly turned into vandalism of the manufacturing plant located in Kolar in the state of Karnataka, India.

Reports of arson, violence and looting surfaced on Saturday, December 12 at the manufacturing facility where factory employees allegedly ransacked the assembly lines, damaged office equipment and stole thousands of iPhones. Wistron has estimated that around 5,000 contract labourers and 2,000 unknown arsonists are behind the massive riot-like situation at the factory premises. The damages caused by the workers include Rs 10 crore worth of infrastructure, Rs 60 lakhs worth of cars and golf carts destruction along with missing smartphones and gadgets worth Rs 1.5 crores.

Taiwan-headquartered Wistron Corporation says it suffered losses worth Rs 437 crore in violence unleashed by a section of workers over salary issues at its plant in Kolar district in Karnataka

— Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) December 14, 2020

Wistron has filed a complaint with the police stating that office equipment, production lines, smartphones and more worth Rs 412.5 crores were stolen, missing or damaged as a result of the protests. The company makes iPhones for Apple and other products for technology companies. The police have detained over 150 people that were found to be associated with the act of vandalism at the manufacturing facility. These people are being held in judicial custody with FIRs being registered by the Kolar Police.

While reports indicate that the protest was due to the unpaid dues of the factory workers, Labour Commissioner Akram Pasha has stated that there was a delay of four days in processing the salary and not months as claimed by the workers. “Only the police can investigate why this happened. We saw the data and there was only four days’ delay in salary distribution. Many claimed it was for several months, but it wasn't there in the report,” he said.

Apple has dispatched teams and auditors to Wistron’s Naraspura facility to assess the on-ground situation and launch a full-scale investigation into the events that transpired into the protests and act of vandalism.

Apple WatchOS 72 and iOS143 updates bring Cardio Fitness notifications and ProRes RAW to the masses

Apple last evening pushed out an update to all its hardware last night, the most notable being WatchOS 7.2 and iOS 14.3. With the two updates installed on your Apple Watch Series 6 and iPhone, users now get access to a new health metric: Cardio Fitness. For those running iOS 14.3 on an iPhone 12 Pro or an iPhone 12 Pro Max, they will also finally be able to shoot photos in Apple’s ProRes RAW format.

Apple Watch gets Cardio Fitness Notification

The primary measurement for cardio fitness would come from measuring VO2-Max numbers, usually collected during a workout. However, most of us may not work out regularly, but still might spend a great part of our day engaged in activities that directly correlate to cardio fitness. In order to deliver on the metric, the Apple Watch Series 6 uses its on-board VO2-Max sensor, and combines that data with the data collected using the host of other sensors such as the accelerometer, GPS and even the optical heart rate sensor to arrive at a more realistic figure for your cardio fitness. Afterall, if you’re not moving much, or not engaging in activities that cause your heart rate to jump into a higher band for a sustained period of time, you’re probably not at the peak of your health. The cardio fitness notifications can now be setup for users with the Apple Watch Series 6 on the Watch app on their iPhones, through the newly added tab of the same name.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max get ProRes RAW

At the October 13 launch even for the new iPhones, Apple largely closed the gap between the Pro and non-Pro models of the iPhone. However, the camera still remained a notable differentiator, even though the software capabilities remained the same. While the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini get all the main features, hardware and software of the Pro siblings, the non-Pro models lack a telephoto lens on the hardware front and on the software, don’t get Apple’s ProRes RAW format. However, if you did buy yourself the new iPhone 12 Pro or the iPhone 12 Pro Max, your photos just got a whole lot better. With the update to iOS 14.3, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will finally get ProRes RAW capture support, bringing the ability to capture RAW images straight from the main camera app. Apple has allwed RAW capture for many years now, just not through its own camera app. That changes today. In addition, ProRes RAW is also supposed to bring the best of Deep Fusion and SmartHDR3 to the photos, while also preserving the vast amount of data associated with RAW files so that you can edit them to your liking. We’re already testing the feature out and can say with confidence that users are going to love this feature. On a side note, however, do note that popular editing apps like Snapseed and Lightroom need to be updated to read the metadata in the Apple ProRes RAW file in order to decode and consequently, display the image data correctly. You can still edit the images using the built-in editor in the Photos App.

Both iOS 14.3 and WatchOS 7.2 are now available as OTA updates and can be downloaded through the iPhone’s settings app and the Watch App respectively.
