Heres what recent leaks tell us about Motorola Edge 40 Pro

Motorola Edge 40 Pro’s press renders were leaked by a Twitter user named Evan Blass (@evleaks) via a tweet. This news comes on the back of Motorola’s announcement of the new Edge 40 Pro, which is set to launch later this year.

Not only the design but the specs of the upcoming phone have made their way out on the internet. The phone is expected to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. This is pretty much the standard in flagship phones released today. If this is the case, then the phone would be competing in the upper echelons of the Android smartphone market against offerings by Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

Motorola

In terms of the screen, the phone is expected to have a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) 10-bit pOLED panel clocking in a 165 Hz refresh rate and a round hole punch camera cut out at the top. Protecting all this hardware on the font will be Corning’s Gorilla Glass victus. Additionally, if the rumours and reports are anything to go by, the phone is expected to come with Android 13 and would be priced at around Rs. 49,999.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be the successor to last year’s Edge 30 Pro. Last year’s release, the Edge 30 Pro, did not get much love from smartphone aficionados for many reasons. The overall package for the price that it was retailing at made for a deal that did not attract many. However, with all the changes that are set to come in with the new Edge 40 Pro, Motorola would expect the sales numbers to be much higher than what they were for the Edge 30 Pro.

Apple set to release a new iMac and MacBook Air: All that we know so far

If you are active in the world of technology news, then the chances are that you get your regular dose of Apple leaks and rumours, most of them coming from one Mr Mark Gurman. In his recent article, the fabled Bloomberg reporter hinted at the launch of a new 24-inch iMac and 13-inch MacBook Air.

Apple’s current lineup of Macs includes the 24-inch iMac that comes equipped with the M1 chip. Launched a couple of years ago, the 24-inch iMac has been due for an upgrade for some time now. The MacBook Air had recently gotten an update both in terms of design and processing hardware. Apple gave its design a boxier, iPhone-like treatment and fitted its lightest and cheapest laptop line with the M2 chip. The M1 variant is still up for sale and has been reporting decent numbers. However, Apple plans to make changes to its Mac line-up, or at least that is what Gurman suggests.

In his article, he wrote – “I can now share some good news. Apple Inc.’s next iMac desktop is at an advanced stage of development called engineering validation testing, or EVT, and the company is conducting production tests of the machine.”

Mark Gurman

He added that the new iMacs will carry the same colourways and screen size. The biggest change would be the addition of a ‘new M-series chip’ that would replace the M1 chip. On the MacBook front, he speculated that if Apple are to stick with their release pattern from last year, then we could very well see a new MacBook Air (13-inch) being introduced, fitted with the new M3 chip which is set to launch sometime this year.

It will be interesting to see what approach Apple takes and what impact will the new M3 chip have on the whole personal computer market as a whole. As things develop, we hope that we get some new exciting machines to play with!

Source 2 finally coming to CS:GO Heres what we know about Counter-Strike 2

If you have been active on any social media platforms of late, then you would have come across the news about ‘Counter-Strike 2’. Touted to be the next title in the Counter-Strike franchise, fans and experts associated with the game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, can’t seem to get a break from talking about it. News and rumours have been flooding the internet, with the latest one coming from none other than Richard Lewis, the fabled eSports journalist.

In case you did not know, fans of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have been eagerly awaiting the long-due port of the game to Valve’s Source 2 game engine. There have been theories and rumours in the past that died out as quickly as they caught steam (pun intended) in the gaming communities. However, this time around, things seem to be much more serious.

Heading for the source

Richard Lewis, in his blog post about the release of CS2, said that the release is not only a reality but would meet the eyes of the players sooner than anyone thought. He quoted one of his sources saying – “The big priority is getting this out and then polishing it, fixing any bugs and bringing it up to the level people expect from CS.”

Latest on Substack: I'm as surprised as everyone but it turns out not only is Counter-Strike 2 real but it's coming very soon. Sources with a knowledge of the games development reveal details of the upcoming beta release.https://t.co/ogSk5QnU6L

— Richard Lewis (@RLewisReports) March 5, 2023

That’s not all. If Richard’s report is anything to go by, then the new release could come packing with a load of other features like 128-tick servers as well. However, he also mentioned that the addition of these new features, especially the port to Source 2, could impact the game’s performance on lower-end PCs.

Recently, a Twitter user by the name of Aquarius (@aquaismissing) had spotted files named “csgos2.exe” and “cs2.exe” in NVIDIA’s recently released drivers, sparking the whole ‘Counter-Strike 2’ conversation.

Counter Strike 2

His Tweet was quoted by many in the community and attracted tons of attention from the who's who of the CS:GO scene. Even the professional teams weren’t left untouched by the hype train that is Counter-Strike 2. Some teams engaged in conversation with their fans, while others drafted their wishlists about the game. It was like a celebration!

After all these years, Source 2 finally seems to be within the grasp of CS:GO players. The player base of the game is at an all-time high, and its popularity seems to be rising a decade after its release. So, while we wait for the game to get it one of its biggest overhauls in years, let's hope that after the changes, it continues to be the battleground that we have cherished all these years.  For more technology news, product reviews, sci-tech features and updates, keep reading Digit.in or head to our Google News page.
