The ‘smart’ feature phone by Jio, the JioPhone 2 will be up for grabs today via its second flash sale. The phone was announced alongside JioGigaFiber at Reliance India Limited's 41st Anual General Meeting back in July and sports a full QWERTY keypad and a horizontal display. Jio announced that the handset sold out fast during its first flash sale. So, one is advised to keep their trigger finger ready for purchasing it today. JioPhone 2 price and how to buy The JioPhone 2 will be available to purchase for a price of Rs 2,999 via Jio.com and My Jio App today at 12 PM. To buy the JioPhone 2 either visit Jio.com website or use the MyJio app. On the website, click on the JioPhone 2 banner and enter your Pincode, after which, select 'proceed to checkout' and enter your personal details like Name, email id and mobile number. One will then need select the desired payment option and pay Rs 2,999. The order confirmation notice will be sent to the buyer via email, SMS. On the MyJio app, one needs to tap on the JioPhone 2 banner and needs to follow the same steps mentioned above for buying the device. Jio is said to charge Rs 99 for delivery of the handset, so one would need to pay Rs 3,098 in total and after receiving the device, one will need to activate the SIM that comes with it from a Jio store. JioPhone 2 Recharge Plans Jio has three plans available for the JioPhone 2. There is a Rs 48 plan which offers 1GB data, 50 free SMS, unlimited calling and unrestricted access to Jio apps with a validity of 28 days. Second up is the Rs 99 recharge that comes with 4GB of data, free calling, 300 SMS, and access to Jio apps for 28 days. Lastly, the Rs 153 plan for the JioPhone 2 (and the JioPhone) offers 42GB of data, free calling, access to Jio apps, and free unlimited SMS, with the same validity of 28 days. JioPhone 2 Specs and features As mentioned earlier, the JioPhone 2 is a ‘smart’ feature phone that features a 2.4-inch display and a full QWERTY keypad with a four-way navigation key. It runs on the same Kai OS as the first JioPhone and is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. The phone comes with 512MB RAM, coupled with 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a micro-SD card. Jio has already rolled out Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp for the handset. It also supports Jio’s other apps like MyJio, JioMusic, JioTV, JioCinema, JioXpressNews, Voice Assistant, JioVideoCall, JioGames, and more. The JioPhone 2 is powered by a 1GHz Dual-core processor and speaking of optics, it comes equipped with a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. In terms of connectivity, it supports VoLTE as well as Jio’s upcoming VoWiFi service that enables users to make phone calls using any public Wi-Fi. The phone also supports NFC, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth Low Energy and comes with a built-in FM Radio. The JioPhone 2 supports 22 Indian languages along with voice commands so that users can simply press a button and speak to boot up apps, send messages and more. Other compatible accessories for the phone include - JioMediaCable and JioFi for Wi-Fi access. These will need to be purchased separately.
