A week after its second flash sale, Xiaomi is all set for the third flash sale of its second Android One smartphone, the Mi A2, in India. The smartphone will be up for grabs at 12PM today on Amazon.in and Mi.com. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A2 was launched for Rs 16,999 in India. There are several offers bundled with the smartphone. HDFC credit and debit card owners can get 5 percent instant discount on the purchase of the Android One smartphone. Reliance Jio users can get a cashback of Rs 2,200, along with 4.5TB additional data. In additon, the Chinese tech giant is also holding a flash sale for its budget smartphone, Xiaomi Redmi 5A on Flipkart. The Xiaomi Mi A2 runs on stock Android since it is a part of Google’s Android One program and will get timely OS and security updates. This means that the Mi A2 will be one of the first phones to receive the Android 9 Pie update when it is rolled out later this year. Xiaomi launched only the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant of the Mi A2 in India, but the 6GB+128GB version will be made available later. Xiaomi Mi A2 specifications: The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and sports a fingerprint sensor and a vertically stacked dual-camera setup on the back. In the camera department, the smartphone comes with a primary 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25-micron pixels and a secondary 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor. Both the lenses have f/1.75 aperture. On the front, there is a 20MP camera with a Sony IMX376 sensor and Xiaomi's Super Pixel Technology. The handset is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4+. As mentioned before, the smartphone runs stock Android Oreo OS since it has been launched under Google’s Android One program. Another benefit is that customers will get unlimited high-quality photo storage on Google Drive, monthly security updates, and at least two major OS updates in the future. The Xiaomi Mi A2 was first launched in Madrid, Spain as the company looks to expand its presence in Europe. You cna check out our review of the Xiaomi Mi A2 here.
