Xiaomi recently launched its second Android One smartphone, the Mi A2, in India and it will be going up for sale for the first time at 12PM today via Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Homes and Mi Preferred Partner Stores. Like its predecessor, the Mi A1, the Xiaomi Mi A2 also runs on the stock Android operating system and is a part of Google’s Android One program, meaning that it is bound to receive timely OS and security updates. The Mi A2 will be one of the first phones to receive the Android Pie update when it's rolled out later this year. The phone was announced in India last week, and was up for pre-orders till now. Xiaomi Mi A2 price and launch offers Xiaomi has launched only the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant of the Mi A2 in India. The Xiaomi Mi A2 price stands at Rs 16,999. The company plans to release a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the phone sometime soon. The Mi A2 will be available today in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold colour options, and one will receive a soft case for it within the box. For launch offers, Reliance Jio customers can avail up to Rs 2,200 instant cashback with the phone, along with up to 4.5TB of additional data. One will also get to avail 3-months of free Hungama Music subscription on the device. XIaomi Mi A2 specifications In terms of design, the Mi A2 looks quite similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro (review). It features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. It features a fingerprint sensor and a vertically stacked dual-camera setup on the back. In terms of optics, the Mi A2 comes with a primary 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25-micron pixels and a secondary 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor that enables portrait photography. Both the lenses have f/1.75 aperture. On the front is a 20MP camera with a Sony IMX376 sensor and Xiaomi's Super Pixel Technology. The handset is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4+. The device misses out on a 3.5mm headphone jack and instead, it comes equipped with a USB Type-C port. The smartphone runs on Android Oreo OS and since it has been launched under Google’s Android One program, customers will get unlimited high-quality photo storage on Google Cloud, monthly security updates, and at least two major OS updates in the future.
