The 2018 Apple iPhone lineup consists of the iPhone XS Max (review), iPhone XS and the iPhone XR and the Apple iPhone XR is now up for pre-orders in India. The iPhone XR could be considered the more affordable of the three iPhones launched this year. The device gets toned down hardware in comparison with its siblings like a “Liquid Retina” display, which is basically an LCD panel, and a single rear camera. It does sport the same Face ID setup as the iPhone X, but it’s faster due to the new SoC. The device does come in an array of colours to choose from. iPhone XR Price and Pre-booking Offers The iPhone XR price comes in three storage models. Its 64GB storage model is priced at Rs 76,900, while its 128GB variant costs Rs 81,900. The 256GB storage version can be purchased at Rs 91,900. The handset can be pre-ordered online from Airtel, Jio, Paytm Mall, and Amazon and offline from resellers like iWorld, Imagine, and others. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting October 26 in Black, PRODUCT (RED), Blue, Coral, White, and Yellow colour options. Customers purchasing the iPhone XR from the Airtel Online Store will get to avail some offers. It can be booked with a downpayment starting at Rs 14,999 and there’s an EMI of Rs 3,499 for 24 months, which comes bundled with 100GB of data per month, unlimited calling, free Netflix for 3 months and one year of free Amazon Prime subscription. Reliance Jio is offering a 5 percent cashback on EMI or 5x reward points on non-EMI payments when using either Citibank or Axis Bank credit cards. Amazon is offering a no-cost EMI option on Bajaj Finserv EMI cards and HDFC credit and debit cards. Paytm Mall is offering an additional Rs 7,000 off on regular exchange with the phones. Those who are prebooking the iPhone XR offline will get to avail a 5 percent cashback on EMI or 5x reward points on non-EMI payments when using Citibank or Axis Bank credit cards. There’s also a no-cost EMI available on Bajaj Finserv cards. iPhone XR Specifications The iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD Liquid Retina display with a 1792 x 828p resolution with 326 PPI. There's no 3D touch capabilities on the device, but it features a new Haptic touch system. The device is powered by the company’s latest A12 Bionic SoC, which is also used on the other two iPhone models. With a "more durable" glass back, the iPhone XR comes equipped with a single rear camera setup with a f/1.8 12MP wide-angle sensor that is supplemented with Optical Image Stabilisation and comes with 6-element lens and 1.4µm pixel size. The device can manage to capture images in Portrait mode, even with a single camera setup and offers changing the depth of field after capturing a photo. The notch on the front houses same components as the iPhone X to enable Face ID, along with Animojis and Memojis, and there is also a 7MP sensor that can capture selfies in portrait mode. The smartphone runs on iOS 12 and is also IP67 certified.
