Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 to feature display slider design, 24MP dual front cameras

Xiaomi has always been innovative with its Mix series of smartphones and the next iteration in the lineup, the Mi Mix 3 will be unveiled on October 25 in China. Ahead of the launch, the company has released a new teaser video of the phone, giving a glimpse at its design from the front. It also reveals a slider mechanism, which is somewhat similar to what we have seen on the Oppo Find X but seems to be working in a non-motorised manner. The teaser shows that the slider can be used to pull the display down and reveal the dual front cameras. Since the cameras are now tucked underneath the display, the phone has gone near bezel-less but there’s still a slim chin on the bottom. The video reveals the presence of 24MP dual cameras on the front.  Previously, Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 will feature 10GB RAM and come with 5G support. If this turns out to be true, the Mi Mix 3 might be on its way to being the first smartphone with 10GB RAM. The phone is also expected to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, but the new video didn’t showcase it. However, some leaked images of the phone’s rear panel suggest that there might be a fingerprint sensor on the back and not under the display. The handset will reportedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 10GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It could feature a QHD+ AMOLED display panel made by Samsung. In terms of optics, the Mi MIX 3 might feature a 12MP + 12MP vertically stacked dual-camera setup and is confirmed to feature a 24MP front camera. The phone is expected to launch running on MIUI 10, which could be based on Android 9.0 Pie. I could do this all day. pic.twitter.com/GRAF4jPMZt — Mi (@xiaomi) October 18, 2018
