The OnePlus 6T is finally official and as expected, it comes with a waterdrop notch and features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Its global unveiling was on October 29 but the company will be launching the phone at a separate event on October 30 in India. Although we know everything there is to know about the handset, its India pricing, launch offers and other information will be announced at today’s event. OnePlus has increased the screen size and the screen-to-body ratio with the new OnePlus 6T. It also has a bigger battery and runs on the latest version of Android. You can watch the event from the video embedded below. OnePlus 6T Specifications The OnePlus 6T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC that can hit speeds of up to 2.8GHz. The phone comes in a 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage variant and another version with 8GB RAM, coupled with 256GB of onboard storage. The smartphone features a larger 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED 19.5:9 display this time that sports a 2340x1080p resolution. The screen has a pixel density at 402 PPI and it is protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The handset runs on OxygenOS, which is based on Android 9 Pie operating system. The new OS brings new features like an updated Gaming Mode and Smart Boost, which is said to enhance app start up time by up to 20 percent. In terms of camera, the OnePlus 6T comes equipped with a 16MP + 20MP dual camera setup with Sony IMX 519 and Sony IMX 376K sensors respectively. Both the sensors are paired with a f/1.7 aperture lens but the 16MP primary camera comes with 1.22µm pixel size, while the secondary 20MP sensor has a pixel pitch of 1.0µm. The main camera supports Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) and as AI based stabilisation, AIS. There is also a new Nightscape mode that is said to use a newly developed Night HDR for capturing better low light photos. The new feature will also be soon rolled out for OnePlus 6 but no exact date has been provided. You can check out the key differences between the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T here. On the front, the OnePlus 6T sports a 16MP Sony IMX 371 Sensor with f/2.0 aperture, EIS and a 1.0µm pixel size. The small waterdrop notch on the front houses the camera, along with the three-in-one ambient, distance and RGB sensor. Same as the OnePlus 6, one will be able to hide the notch from the phone’s settings. The device is powered by a 3700mAh battery, which is touted to deliver 23 percent of additional runtime as compared to its predecessor. OnePlus 6T Price The 6GB+128GB version of the OnePlus 6T is priced at $549 (Rs 40,277), while its 8GB RAM with 128GB storage costs $578 (Rs 42,400 approx). There is also an 8GB+256GB model of the device, which will cost $629 (Rs 46,100 approx). We expect the India pricing of the phone to be similar or slightly lesser. The smartphone will start shipping from November 1 in the US and November 6 in Europe.
