The Oppo R17 Pro is now officially available in India at a price of Rs 45,990. At this steep cost, the Snapdragon 710 bearing smartphone is the first of its kind in India, even though other SD710 phones have launched in China. The R17 Pro comes with the company’s proprietary Super VOOC Flash Charge technology which is said to deliver 40% power in 10 minutes of charging time. The device was recently tested against 59 other smartphones and it emerged on top in terms of charging speeds. As per the test, the Oppo R17 Pro reached a whopping 92% charge in just 30 minutes. We will, of course, test this out once we get the device for review. Apart from its fast charging tech, the R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a Waterdrop notch. The phone achieves a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5% and is protected by Corning's latest standard of protective glass, i.e Gorilla Glass 6. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor on the phone and Oppo claims it can unlock the device in just 0.41 seconds. As mentioned before, the Oppo R17 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC (Dual 2.2GHz Kryo 360 + Hexa 1.7GHz Kryo 360 CPUs) and is accompanied by Adreno 616 GPU for graphics. The smartphone is available in India in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 45,990. Amazon is also offering up to Rs 18,000 off on the device with exchange of an old smartphone. For more buying offers, Oppo has partnered with Reliance Jio and customers who buy the device will get up to 3.2TB of Jio 4G data and benefits up to Rs 4,900. The 3.2TB data is only applicable when recharging with the Rs 299 prepaid plan for 39 recharge cycles. Oppo has also extended a OneTime screen replacement offer at Rs 990. Additionally, there is a 10% Instant Discount with YES Bank Credit Card EMI. In terms of software, the Oppo R17 Pro runs on ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. On the camera side of things, the phone adorns a dual-camera system at the back and a single shooter in the front. The primary 12MP rear camera comes with variable aperture (f/1.5 and f/2.4) that switches automatically depending on the availability of light. The secondary 20MP camera helps in capturing portrait shots. It also features Time of Flight (TOF) 3D Sensing technology that can get high-precision 3D depth information through nanosecond infrared light measurement. On the front is a 25MP AI-powered camera. A 3700mAh battery powers the entire package and the phone is also the first in India to feature Oppo’s Super VOOC Flash charging tech. What you get in the box with the Oppo R17 Pro is the handset, adapter, headset, micro USB Cable, important Information booklet with warranty card, quick guide, SIM Card Tool and a case. In terms of connectivity, the Oppo R17 Pro features dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, HSPA+ and 4G LTE. It is available in Radiant Mist and Emerald Green colours.
