Highlights: HMD Global releases a list showing Android Pie update schedule for various models Nokia 2 has been omitted from the list All the listed phones should be updated by early Q2 2019 HMD Global has been rolling out regular updates to Nokia phones, and recently, it released Android Pie 9.0 updates to the Nokia 5.1 Plus and the Nokia 6.1 Plus. In the latest development, the Finnish company has now published a list that shows the company’s roadmap in terms of rolling out the Android Pie update to various models. The models that will get the update are the Nokia 1, Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 3.1 Plus. Surprisingly, the Nokia 2 has not been included in the list. The list was posted by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, on Twitter. According to the list, the Nokia 5 and 3.1 Plus will get Android Pie by the end of this month. The Nokia 6 will get the update by the end of the first quarter as soon as the Dolby implementation is complete. Along with the Nokia 6, the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 will also be updated to Android Pie before the end of the first quarter. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 1 will be updated in early second quarter of 2019. Since the Nokia 2 didn’t make the cut, it seems that the company is skipping the update for it altogether. The roadmap also shows that HMD is currently working on rolling out Android 9 Pie update to the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Sarvikas has also claimed that HMD was the fastest in completing the Android Oreo and Oreo 8.1 portfolio and plans to be faster this time as well. The Android 9 update brings the standard set of Android Pie features for the phone, like Adaptive Brightness and Adaptive Battery, along with the new system navigation scheme. It also brings Digital Wellbeing features like Dashboard, which highlights screen time and phone usage, including how many times the device has been unlocked and number of notifications received. The phone will also get App Timers (to set time limits on app usage) and Wind Down mode as well as Do Not Disturb features (to set a daily schedule to get your phone ready for bed). The Wind Down feature makes the screen fade into Grayscale and Do Not Disturb silences all the notifications.
